9 Days Shanghai/Xian/Beijing

Day 1 
Arrive / Shanghai
Upon arrival, be transferred to the 4 star Yun's Paradise Hotel or similar for your two night stay.  The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 
Shanghai / Zhujiajiao / Shanghai (B/L/D)

Today, we will drive to the Zhujiajiao Water Town ( about 1 hour's drive). After half a day's exploration in this charming ancient town, drive back to Shanghai.

Zhujiaojiao -- Located in a suburb of Shanghai city, Zhujiajiao is an ancient water town well-known throughout the country, with a history of more than 1700 years. Covering an area of 47 square kilometers, the little fan-shaped town glimmers like a bright pearl in the landscape of lakes and mountains.

Day 3
Shanghai / Xi'an (B/L/D)

Today's sightseeing tour includes visits to the historic the Bund, the famous Nanjing Road Shopping District and the Yuyuan Garden. In the afternoon, transfer to Shanghai Airport for your flight to Xi'an. On arrival, transfer to the 4 star Bell Tower Hotel or similar for your two night stay. 

The Nanjing Road -- Nanjing Road is considered to be the 'No. 1 commercial street in China', which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometers, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day.

Yuyuan Garden -- It is the largest of Shanghai's ancient gardens with Ming and Qing architectural styles. The garden has six areas, each with its own style. The Grand Rockery, in the center of the Garden, is the most renowned sight.

Day 4
Xi'an (B/L/D)

Morning tour to the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses archaeological site. After lunch visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening enjoy the spectacular Tang Dynasty Cultural Show

Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses --The great archeological excavation of Qin (221BC-206BC) Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses unfolded a strong army of altogether 7,000 life-size pottery soldiers, horses, chariots and weapons arranged in battle formations symbolically, guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda -- It is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It is located in the southern suburb of Xian City, about 4 kilometers (2.49 miles) from the downtown of the city.

Day 5 
Xi'an / Beijing (B/L/D)

Today's city tour includes visits to the Bell and Drum Towers, the Moslem Quarter, and the beautifully preserved City Wall. In the afternoon, transfer to Xi!an Airport for your flight to Beijing. On arrival, transfer to the 5 Qianmen Hotel or similar for your four night stay.

The Bell Tower -- It is a stately traditional building, that marks the geographical center of the ancient capital. From this important landmark extend East, South, West and North Streets, connecting the Tower to the East, South, West and North Gates of the City Wall of the Ming Dynasty.

The City Wall -- Adorned with a moat and the circular park, the wall surrounds the square inner city of Xian. It is the most complete city wall to survive in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world, built first in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and renovated in recent years.

Day 6 
Beijing (B/L/D)

Morning tour to see world famous Tiananmen Square and the splendours of the Forbidden City. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, the former summer resort of past Chinese Emperors. This evening you will be entertained by an exciting Chinese Acrobatic Show

The Tiananmen Square -- it is the largest central city square in the world, which serves not only Beijing's symbol but also the whole of China. This immense courtyard is the site of various historical events, which is surrounded by a variety of significant edifices such as the Great Hall of the People, the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and the Monument to the People's Heroes.

The Forbidden City -- it is the largest and the best-preserved imperial palace complex in the world. It has 9,999 rooms in flourishing period with just a single room short of the number that ancient Chinese belief represents 'Divine Perfection' and surrounded by a moat six meters deep and ten-meter high wall. For five centuries, this palace functioned as the administrative center of the country.

Day 7 
Beijing (B/L/D)

In the morning, travel out to China's most famous icon, the Great Wall at Badaling. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs and a cloisonn factory. For dinner, enjoy the world famous local speciality, Peking Duck, at one of Beijing's top restaurant.

Badaling Great Wall -- It is situated in Yanqing County, over 70 kilometres (43 miles) north of Beijing. It is the most well-preserved section of the Great Wall, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). This section with an average altitude of over 1,000 meters (3,282 feet) is the outpost of the Juyongguan Pass.

Day 8 
Beijing (B)

Morning tour of the Temple of Heaven --one of China’s most beautiful architectural treasures. Rest of day free for further exploration and / or shopping in this exciting city.

The Temple of Heaven -- it is a worthwhile visiting place in Beijing. It is much bigger than the Forbidden City and smaller than the Summer Palace with an area of about 2,700,000 square meters. The Temple was built in 1420 A.D. during the Ming Dynasty to offer sacrifice to Heaven. As Chinese emperors called themselves 'The Son of Heaven' ,they dared not to build their own dwelling,'Forbidden City' bigger than a dwelling for Heaven.

Day 9 
Beijing / Exit (B)

Day free, until you transfer to Beijing Airport for your return flights.
