Arrive / Beijing

Day 2
Beijing (B/L/D)
Morning tour of world famous Tiananmen Square and the splendours of the Forbidden City. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, the former summer resort of past Chinese Emperors. This evening you will be entertained by an exciting Chinese Acrobatic Show
Forbidden City -- The dominant color in the Forbidden City is yellow, as yellow is the symbol of the royalty. Roofs of the major architecture in the city are covered with yellow colored glazed tiles; decorations of the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are yellow. However, Wenyuan Ge is an exception. Its roof is black colored. Why is it like this? Actually, Wenyuan Ge was built for collected books. Ancient people believed that the black represents water and could extinguish fire. To prevent the books from fire, black glazed tiles were used.
Summer Palace -- An attractive site inside the imperial garden Summer Palace is the well-known Long Gallery. As the longest gallery in Chinese gardens, it was built in 1755 during Emperor Qianlong's reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Before starting the construction of the gallery, Qianlong ordered artists to go to Hangzhou City (Zhejiang Province) to sketch the scenery there. After that artists painted 546 paintings of West Lake landscapes in the Long Gallery. The themes ranged from historical figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, displaying the amazing Chinese painting.
Day 3
Beijing (B/L/D)
In the morning, travel out to China's most famouicon, the Great Wall at Badaling. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs and a cloisonn factory. For dinner, enjoy the world famous local speciality, Peking Duck, at one of Beijing’s top restaurants.
Great Wall -- Listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Wall is the fruit of the Chinese nation's wisdom and a symbol of Chinese civilization. Particularly, the most popular section of it is no doubt the Badaling Great Wall which was firstly built in the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt and repaired several times in the following dynasties. Now, as a national key scenic spot, Badaling has already become the first choice destination of the tourists from all over the world.
This morning, tour the Temple of Heaven- one of China's most beautiful architectural treasures. Rest of day free, until you transfer to Beijing Airport to board your direct flight to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to the centrally located 4 star The Ramada Plaza Peace Hotel Shanghai , for your three night stay.
Temple of Heaven - Different from yellow tile roof of the Forbidden City, all of the buildings' roofs of the Temple of Heaven are covered with the dark blue glazed titles widely. It just corresponds to the blue sky, because this altar is used to worship the god of heaven.
Day 5
Shanghai (B/L/D)
This morning’s sightseeing includes visits to the historic the Bund (one of the world's best preserved examples of Art-Deco architecture, located adjacent to the Huangpu River), the famous Nanjing Road. Shopping District and the Yuyuan Garden. After dinner travel up to the viewing platform of the Oriental Pearl Tower (third highest tower in the world), for spectacular views of the city by night.
Yuyuan Garden -- It is the largest of Shanghai's ancient gardens with Ming and Qing architectural styles. The garden has six areas, each with its own style. The Grand Rockery, in the center of the Garden, is the most renowned sight.
The Oriental Pearl TV Tower --It is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai. The tower, surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, creates a picture of 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. The entire scene is a photographic jewel that excites the imagination and attracts thousands of visitors year-round.
Day 6
Shanghai / Xitang / Shanghai (B/L/D)
Morning drive through the countryside to the ancient Xitang Water Village, with its traditional houses and arched stone bridges crossing over small canals. Return to Shanghai late in the evening.
Xitang is a famous town with thousands of years of history, lying in Jiashan County in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC-476 BC) and the Warring States Period (476 BC-221 BC). Xitang was a place of strategic importance on the boundary of the Wu and Yue states.
Day 7
Shanghai / Exit (B)
Morning transfer to Shanghai Airport for your return flights.
