Day 1
Arrive / Shanghai
Airport to hotel transfer On arrival at Shanghai, our guide and driver will meet you at the airport and drive you to the hotel. Sofitel Hyland
Day 3
Guilin /Yangshuo / Guilin ( B, L )
Tour sites : the Li River cruise, Yangshuo Old Town
We leave hotel for the Li River cruise 8am. Lunch is buffet both in Chinese and western style. The cruise takes us through the most stunning river scenery imaginable. The spectacular limestone peaks seem to form statues of that guard the beautiful river that is lined with lush bamboo groves. The villagers go about their business and the water buffalo graze along the bank as the boat s pass by. We will disembark Yangshuo at around 1pm and we will be free to explore the old town before being transferred back to the Guilin.
The Longji Terracesare located in Longsheng County about 2 hours from Guilin . The rice terraces are built into the hillsides. The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. We then travel further in the country side and overnight in Sanjiang.
Day 5
Sanjiang / Zhaoxing ( B, L )
Tour sites: the Chengyang Shelter Bridge, the Diping Shelter Bridge, theTang'an, Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic village
We get a really good feel for the lives of a number of different enthic goups as we cross the boarder in Guizhou province. We will also see some very good examples of archetecture which is specific to these groups.
Day 6
Zhaoxing / Congjiang / Rongjiang ( B, L )
Tour sites: the Basha Miao Ethnic village, Yintan, Rongjiang County, the Zengchong Drum Tower
We are now deep into Dong and Miao country where these people live there lives today, much as they have done for thoudands of years. The origins of the Dong and Miao people can be traced to this area so it holds special significance to these people groups.
Day 7
Rongjiang / KaiLi ( B, L )
Today we visit Qingyan Old Town which was established in 1738 in the Ming Dyanasty. Many ancient buildings and cultural relics of this walled town have been well preserved, including over 100 sites of historical interest. The mountainous countryside that we travel through will be another highlight of the day.
Tour sites: the Lanhua Miao ethnic group village, the Kaili Ethnic Minorities Museum, the Langde Miao ethnic group village
We will travel to Kunming today but before leaving we will visit the Lanhua Miao ethnic group village, Kaili Ethnic Minorities Museum, Langde Miao ethnic group village. these will give us a good indication of the variety of cultures even within the same people group. 
Our day in Kunming includes the remarkable Stone Forest where wind and rain have fashioned a gallery of stone sculptures and the Market of Birds and Flowers the old buildings provide the setting for this lively market place. After ward we transfer to the airport for oryu flight to Dali.
Tour sites: the Temple of the Three Pogodas, the Bai Ethnic Villages, Cruise on Lake Erhai , Three Cups of Bai Tea ceremony, The ancient Dali town
On arrival at the ancient town of Dali (1382) we will be met and transferred to our hotel. After we freshen up we will begin our days sightseeing with a cruise on Lake Erhai. The Bai nationality are are one of the larger ethic group in China and Dali is a great place to experience this old and interesting culture. We will visit examples of the Bai Nationality architecture in Xizhou, take part in the Three Cups of Bai Tea ceremony, visit Bai Ethnic Villages and walk in the ancient Dali town. We will also visit the temple of the Three Pagodas which have a history of over 1300 years.
Tour sites: the Yufengsi Lamasery, the Jade Summit Lamasery, the Yak Meadow, Mural in Baisha Village, Longquan Village, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
We head out for the The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which is 18000ft above sea level. It is a treasure trove of rare plants and animals. We take cable car up to have have a close view at Yak Meadow where we see the Yi and Zang Minorities. On the way back to the town, you will visit the Murals in the Buddhist Temple in Baisha. These murals date to the Ming Dynasty. We also drop in at the Jade Summit Lamasery which is famous for its wonderful display of Camellias and was built in the Qing Dynasty.
Today we are going to see the starting point of one of the most powerful rivers in the world, the Yangtze River - the sweeping first bend which flows South then North to form a huge 50 km triangle. We follow this with the famous Tiger leading Gorge and then beautiful Hetaoyuan Village with its dramatic view of the sheers cliffs of Yulong snow mountain as a backdrop.
The neighbouring Tibet has a always has cultural links with Yunnan and today we explor those ties when we visit the Somgzanlin Lamasery which in the most important Tibetian Bhuddist lamasery in Yunnan. we will also have Tibetian tea and snacks with a Tibetian family. We conclude the day at Lake Bitahai which lies in the heart of the nature preserve surrounded by mountains covered with ancient pines, oaks and rhododendron.
Day 14
Shangri-La / Kunming / Kunming / Beijing ( B, L )
Hotel to airport tranfer, airport to hotel tranfer On arrival at Beijing, you will be transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is free.
Day 15
Beijing / Exit ( B )
Today will be free for you to explore this city on your own. Later in the day you will be brought to the airport to leave China and return home.
