Day 1
Arrive / Kunming
Our guide will pick you up at Kunming airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day 2
Kunming (B, L )
Tour sites: The Stone Forest, the Golden Temple
The Stone Forest -- It is one of China's most remarkable natural phenomena located 90 km southeast of Kunming. Due to a process of weathering and erosion, nature has created an art gallery of stone sculpture here.
The Golden Temple -- On the Mingfeng Mountains, seven kilometres to the east of Kunming, it is a fine building made of bronze, first built in the 30th year of Emperor Wanli's rule (1602) in the Ming Dynasty. This is the largest Taoist Tongwa (bronze-tiled) Temple in China and has been preserved almost intact.
Tour sites: the Erhai Lake Park, the Three Pagoda
Take the morning flight to Dali and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Erhai Lake Park and the Three Pagoda later.
The Erhai Park --The unique natural scenery of the Cangshan Mountain and the Erhai Sea as the background and the unique natural environment of the Tuanshan Mountain with artificial ingenuity create this big park.
The Three Pagoda --The three elegant pagodas arise on the Cangshan Mountain slope overlooking the Erhai Lake. The tallest of the three, Qianxun Pagoda, has 16 tiers that reach a height of 69.13 metres. Have a tour to the South Gate of the Dali ancient town and transfer to Foreigner Street.
Tour sites: the Yan's Compound of Bai Minority, Zhoucheng, Naxi Music Performance
Drive to Lijiang, on the way to Lijiang, we will visit the Yan's Compound of Bai Minority in Xizhou and the tie--dyeing in Zhoucheng, where you can enjoy lovely ethical clothes, fairylike programs, decorative architectures, gifted garden parties and wonderful handicrafts. Check in at the hotel. Enjoy the Ancient Naxi Music and Dance Performance at Dongba Palace in the evening.
Day 5
Lijiang ( B)
Tour sites: the Lijiang Old Town
The Lijiang Old Town --The town was built in the late song dynasty and the early Yuan dynasty and was listed by the UNESCO on the list of the world's major cultural heritages in 1997. The rest of day is free for you to explore the town. You can wander through the beautiful town and have lunch and dinner in the town by yourselves in the afternoon.
Day 6
Lijiang ( B, L, D )
Tour sites: the Baishui Tableland, the Dry Sea, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Baisha Village, the Baisha Murals, Yuhu Village.
The Baishui Tableland -- the birthplace of Naxi Minority Ethnic Tribe and their culture-Dongba, a wonder of water and limestone.
The Dry Sea --Being on the unique scenic site of Lijiang, the Dry Sea lies at the east foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It had been a highland glacial lake before the 1940s. Gradually, the water dried up and it turned into a vast meadow. Having an elevation of 3,100 meters (10,171 feet), it is only 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) away from Lijiang Old Town. Dry Sea is considered as the best position to get a panorama of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
he Jade Dragon Snow Mountain --It is the largest snow mountain in the northern hemisphere. Occupying an area of 960 square kilometers (370.6 square miles), the mountain stretches 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) from north to south and is 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) wide from east to west. At an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain has now become a fantastic resort for sightseeing, mountaineering, skiing and exploration.
he Rock Joseph's Former Residence -- It's locates in Yuhu Village, a simple village of Naxi minority with the former residence of Dr. Joseph Rock. Dr. Rock is best remembered for one of the first westerners to spread the long-isolated Naxi culture worldwide and his rigorous works on Naxi ethnology.
Day 7
Lijiang / Kunming ( B, L )
Tour sites: The Buddhist Qiongzhu Temple, the Daguan Park, the Flowers and Birds Market
Take flight back to Kunming and transfer to the hotel. Later, have a city tour to the Buddhist Qiongzhu Temple, the Daguan Park and the Flowers and Birds Market.
The Buddhist Qiongzhu Temple -- It is on the beautiful wooded Yu'an Mountain. The temple and the bamboo forest that surround it have a wonderful and mysterious legend about their origins.
The Daguan Park -- It neighbors Dianchi Lake in the western part of Kunming City. Rock formations, pavilions, bridges and crystal clear water are interwoven, providing you with the perfect chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern city life.
he Flowers and Birds Market --It is a part of a series of streets and markets in central Kunming where an attempt has been made to preserve some of the typical architecture of the region. Traditional wooden houses with grass growing from their roofs line the streets where a variety of products are sold, including of course a small alley devoted to flowers and cage birds.
Day 8
Kunming / Exit
Be transferred to the airport for the flight to the next destination.
Service ends.
