Arrive / Chengdu
Upon arrival Chengdu, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you Hotel.
Day 2
Chengdu / Zigong ( B, L )
Tour sites: the Leshan Giant Buddha
Today, we will drive to Zigong, over night in Zigong. On the way to Zigong, we will visit the Leshan Giant Buddha.
Leshan Giant Buddha -- The Great Buddha in Leshan is located to the east of Leshan City, Sichuan Province and on the Lingyun Mountain where Min River, Qingyi River and Dadu River meet. It has been the largest stone carved sitting Buddhist statue in the world so far.
Day 3
Zigong / Dazu ( B, L )
Tour sites: the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, the Historical Museum of the Salt Industry
Today we will visit Zigong Dinosaur Museum, Historical Museum of the Salt Industry. And then we will drive to Dazu County, overnight in Dazu.
Zigong Dinosaur Museum -- Besides Banpo Village Remains Museum and the Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, Zigong Dinosaur Museum is another large-scale local museum. It is the only dinosaur fossils burial site in China. The Dinosaur Museum Together with the American National Dinosaur Park and the Canadian Dinosaur Park are called the world top three dinosaur museums. It has also been named as one of "the forty best and most famous Chinese scenic tour sites" by the Chinese national tour bureau.
Historical Museum of the Salt Industry -- The Salt History Museum can be traced in Xiqing Guild, which is located on the Jiefang Road in the center of Zigong.This museum is the only one to collect, study and display the culture relics of salt industry in China, it was built up with the mainly sponsoring of Den Xiaoping.
Tour sites: Dazu Grottoes
Today we will pay a visit to the Dazu Grottoes, then we will drive to Chongqing. Overninght in Chongqing.
Dazu Grottoes -- Dazu is a county under the jurisdiction of Chongqing Municipality. It is 83 kilometers to the west of the Chongqing metropolitan area and 256 kilometers to the east of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. The Dazu Grottoes spread across more than 75 sites in the county, and contain over 50,000 stone sculptures carved from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). They are mainly located on Baoding (Treasure Peak) Mountain, Beishan (Northern) Mountain, Shimen (Stone Gate) Mountain, Nanshan (Southern) Mountain, and Shizhuan Mountain.
Day 5
Chongqing / Exit (B, L )
Tour sites: The Goose Neck Park, the ciqikou Old Town
Today you will visit Goose Neck Park, Ciqikou Old Town, then Depart Chongqing
Goose Neck Park -- Goose Neck Park has a good view of the city and the roiling Yangtze River. A great mural of the Yangtze River shows the pre-dam water levels and elevation marks signifying the displacement of the local population, as well as the land area that has been and will be covered when the dam is completed. Originally the river was 100 meters above sea level; it is now 150m and will be at 175m in 2009. It is a useful point of interest prior to a Yangtze River cruise.
Ciqikou Old Town -- Street of Hundreds' Years old. Take a walk to Ciqikou Old Street where you can see local shops, old wooden houses, old pier, tea houses, and local Sichuan street performance and so on.
